What's The Story?
The process of salt glazing pottery, adding common salt into the chamber of a hot kiln, was discovered and refined in Germany during the 14^th and 15^th centuries. Originally used on low fire earthenware, it evolved as small pottery towns near the Rhine began producing salt-glazed stoneware.
